Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
This policy explains how Robin Lewis Photography ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you visit robinlewisphotography.co.uk, and how we use cookies and similar technologies. We handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
1. Who we are
Robin Lewis Photography is a trading name of Storyland Studio Ltd, which is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website.
- Business: Storyland Studio Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 9512664)
- Email: contact@robinlewisphotography.co.uk
2. What we collect and why
When you contact us. If you email, call, or message us (including via WhatsApp), we collect your name, contact details, and whatever you choose to tell us, so we can respond and provide our services. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you, and taking steps to enter into a contract.
Website analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are popular and roughly where visitors are in the world. This data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you. Lawful basis: your consent.
Server and security logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in the security and operation of the site.
Children. Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data about children.
3. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device; we also use similar technologies such as your browser's local storage. We do not set any non-essential cookies until you accept them using our cookie banner.
- slConsent — necessary. Remembers your cookie choice (kept in your browser, not sent to us). Lasts about 12 months.
- CraftSessionId, CRAFT_CSRF_TOKEN — necessary. Keep the site secure and working (session and form protection). Cleared when you close your browser.
- _ga, _ga_* — analytics (Google), set only after you accept. Measures how the site is used. Lasts up to 2 years.
Embedded videos. Some pages include videos from YouTube, served in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When you play a video, Google may receive your IP address and set cookies in line with Google's privacy policy.
4. Who we share it with, and where it goes
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers who help us run the website and our business:
- Google (analytics and embedded videos) — may involve transfers to the United States, protected by the UK's international data transfer safeguards.
- Our hosting provider (UK-based) — stores the website and its logs.
- Our email provider — handles the enquiries you send us.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our legitimate business records, then delete it. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.
6. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email contact@robinlewisphotography.co.uk.
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
7. Managing or withdrawing cookie consent
You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection and removes the analytics cookies.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
9. Contact and complaints
For any privacy question, email contact@robinlewisphotography.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
